About Tom Davies

Tom Davies is an independent filmmaker with an Honours degree in Creative Arts from the University of Melbourne. He founded Savvy Cinema back in 2004, as a means to produce his short film as well as to provide an avenue to put his skills to use producing corporate videos. In addition to the corporate work Tom has directed and produced four shorts, one of which screened at the Short Film Corner at the Cannes Film Festival in 2008.

In September 2007 he moved to Los Angeles to study abroad at the University of California, Irvine. While overseas he interned at Mandate Pictures in Beverley Hills, the production company behind such films as Juno and Stranger than Fiction. He was also selected to participate in a student program at the 2008 Cannes Film Festival, organised by The American Pavilion.

Prior to that, he acted in the role of Associate Producer for the kids TV pilot Gravediggers and was also responsible for their behind the scenes webseries.

In late 2009 Tom wrapped production on his fourth short film The End?, which was completed in late 2010 and will hit the festival circuit in 2011.

Most recently Tom has been working freelance as a Production Coordinator and Runner on a variety of Short Films, TV Commericals, Feature Films and Corporate Videos.
